About this place
The camping here is dispersed, up above 9,000 feet. Mostly aspen shade. Pack for cold nights whatever the calendar says, because at that height the elevation matters more than the month.
There's a vault toilet and an information kiosk. The roads and camp spurs are graveled, so you won't be driving through mud to reach a spot.
Farnsworth Reservoir sits about a mile and a half west along Forest Road 284 and the fishing there can be very good. If it isn't, there's Twin Ponds, Cold Springs and Salina Reservoir.
The designated routes take ATVs up to 50 inches wide. There's walking too, and wildlife if you sit still long enough.

The roads around this place are not maintained for a regular car. That comes from the US Forest Service, who grade every road by the kind of vehicle it is looked after for. Those records cover the roads nearby. They do not cover the last stretch in to the campsite, and nobody has checked that part. Treat this as a warning. We are not promising what you will find when you get there. If you have driven it, tell us what it was like and we will say so here.
